The Centre operates on a not-for-profit basis. The running costs are met mainly from the income from guest groups, supplemented by donations and financial awards from individuals and organisations. Special projects and new developments, including the current project to build improved staff accommodation, are generally paid for by fundraising campaigns and donations from supporters.
Would you like to provide financial support to the work of Compass? We are looking for 2500 supporters who will donate £2 a month. Could you help Compass to achieve this goal? Visit our Just Giving page, where you can setup a monthly direct debit for £2 per month or donation of your choosing.
Also if you are a UK taxpayer, your donation can be increased by UK government though the Gift Aid scheme.
Our team of volunteers plays a very important role in the organisation. Some volunteers spend time onsite tackling tasks such as maintenance, assisting with the activities programme, or working as part of the kitchen and house team. Others support Compass offsite in a multitude of ways; including promoting Compass to potential guest groups, developing marketing materials, fundraising, working on development projects or providing specialist knowledge and skills.
Volunteering plays a vital role in assisting and supporting the work of the Compass Christian Centre. Could you be a part of our team of volunteers? There are a wide range of opportunities for all ages of people with different skills which could help us on a regular or an occasional basis. Could you use your existing skills or would you like the opportunity to work with us and develop new skills? If you have the time and the enthusiasm to get involved, or would just like some more information, we’d love to hear from you.
Many individuals spend time regularly supporting Compass in prayer, using the monthly ‘Prayer Points’ bulletin as a guide. Regional Prayer Groups hold monthly prayer meetings at several locations around Scotland.
As Christians we believe in the power of prayer. The regional prayer groups meet monthly and are a great way to support Compass, to meet with other supporters and to keep up to date with all the news and developments. Our current prayer groups are held in: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee. You will be made most welcome.
